This recipe was inspired by my friend Kelly, a Pampered Chef Consultant. You can check her out here!
There are 3 parts to this trifle:
- My Yummy Brownies-recipe below
- Three 21-ounce cans of cherry pie filling

Then you just layer them in a pattern: brownies, whipped cream, cherries, etc.

Simple and delicious. And, it’s no wonder..chocolate, cherries, and whipped cream were just meant to be together! DH and I loved it!

In this recipe would I be able to substitute the chery pie filing for strawberry pie filing. Going on a vacation and will not have my regular kitchen tools.

How far in advance can this be made?
Scott says
1/4 cup cocoa powder not 1 and 1/4 cup… wow… way to make it really confusing. otherwise good.
danielle says
Scott, not sure which part is confusing. As stated, you need 1 1/4 cups cocoa powder.

There are directions at the end of this recipe that don’t make sense to me . It says to top with cool whip . But there is a recipe for whip cream and then it say to top with a cherry . But in the directions to make this recipe it says to use 3 21oz cherry pie filling. Then it says to put a cherries on top. There is no cherry on top. This may be confusing to people that don’t have done very little baking. Il feel the direction should be clear.

Ahhhh corrected-thank u! The cherry direction was just if making the brownies alone as a treat!
Arlene Finke says
Could I use frozen sweet cherries instead of canned pie filling? I would juice a few and thicken with arrowroot powder!
Thanks and great recipe!

I haven’t tried it but it sounds yummy!

I made it with the brownies cut into fall leaves for an added fun look in the trifle bowl
